Planning; Video Test Shot

These are screenshots whilst I edited the Video Test Shot; this is when the performer and the people behind the camera practice what is to come whilst editing. Even though we did it in one room, as most of our filming will be done indoors, we made the performer act the choreography that were required to be done in our final product.

This was done completely last minute, as we weren't sure whether we were gonna do this on the day or the next lesson. Nevertheless, it worked out.

As our performer, Jobedha, didn't know the lyrics to the new song, we had to put then lyrics up on screen (hence why she was looking left constantly!). She did an excellent job nevertheless and played it off well.

At first, we had a little problem with lighting and there was hardly any space. We worked around it as we only had a little bit of time. Syma was in charge of the music and lyrics, Humawin filming and Nhadia taking photographs of the whole thing. Jobedha was feeling a bit uncomfortable with Humawin filming, so Syma swapped with him. We then were all singing with Jobedha, so she does not feel uncomfortable. We all had fun during this activity, which will be evident in our bloopers reel!

Unfortunately, we forgot about the mic that comes with the camera but we put the actual song on top of the video and aligned her singing with the song, using our skills from when we re-edited a students previous work. We wanted our music video to have aspects of disjuncture AND illustration, which we tried to do in the test shot; we put shots of her spinning and laughing, which we originally wanted in our video (disjuncture) and she also lyrically choreographed whilst she was singing (illustrative).

We hope you enjoy the test shot!
