Production of music video; refilming.

One of the feedback that we received is that there should've been more close ups of our performer, due to the fact that the concept was for a brand new artist to attract new fans for this artist. The first shot we see is this;

In this shot, there is no singing, but we thought it was effective, as it goes with the theme of the song and our idea of the music video. The second shot, where the artist is introduced whilst she is singing, it is a long shot and a lot of people were concerned that the audience will be confused as to how the artist looks like and they wouldn't know who she is;

Our class said it would be better to have a close up of our performers face, so we have introduced our artist correctly.

So today we refilmed and we kept our artists trademarks which are seen in most of the shots; long eyelashes, red lipstick, curly hair and pearls. We made sure we filmed a close up of her and did a whole base track of her. Joe, our performer, acted really well, translating the "primadonna" personality on screen.

After we edited our music video (just before we refilmed) according to our feedback (which was a lot!), we also talked to a previous student, who graduated from university and works with people such as Tinchy Stryder. He said that our new music video looks good and we have a good range of shots. I asked him that as we are refilming, is there anything we could add to make it more effective. He said we should add adlibs; I knew exactly what he meant and we were originally going to add this, just not with Joe - we were gonna use actual words. He said it would give more personality to the video and artist, if we had Joe either dance or laughing, or actually saying the words "yeah" or "wow". So we filmed that extra and also filmed her dancing. He helped us a lot and we were grateful for it.
